Staying in South Loop proved to be the best spot for everything we wanted to do in Chicago (despite the fact that unbeknownst to us our AirBnB sat atop a nightclub…!)

Dakota’s favorite part about our apartment was the fact that the L train ran routinely just outside our window. Every time she heard it rolling in, she ran to the window to wave hello. “hiya chooch!” she’d affectionately call out (a nickname she proudly concocted herself).

Needless to say, she absolutely LOVED riding the L to get around. This isn’t far from her feelings towards riding airplanes, the bus from the parking lot to the airport, etc. etc. We have quite the little traveler on our hands!

One other thing Dakota looks forward to? Eating. Some of our favorite kid-friendly spots to grab a bite in Chicago include Native Foods Cafe (getting mama that vegan fix!), Eleven City Diner (biggest Minnie Mouse pancakes EVER), Brightwok Kitchen, Yolk, and of course we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to enlighten Dakota to the deep dish pizza experience (Lou Malnati’s).
